The portability of information today has become so much easier that we can now travel with hundreds of pages of information in our pockets, and not get weighed down. This has been made possible through the introduction of jump drives, also known as flash drives, and mini disks that can hold gigabytes of information. As such, the printing of entire books or brochures for the purpose of extracting data from one page is no longer necessary as one can now select the exact page that one needs and have it printed. Just as easy as carrying the information on these devices is the process of copying the information to them. The operation is quite simple, in fact, and it is done just about the same way as copying info to a floppy disk.

To copy files to a jump drive, this is all you need to do:

1. Place the jump drive into an available USB port.
2. After the drive has been recognized by the computer, locate the files that you want to copy to it using Explorer or My Computer.
3. After locating the file(s), right click on it (them) and select Copy.
4. Go to the jump drive and right-click in the directory that you want to put the files and select Paste.
5. The reverse operation can be done for copying files from the jump drive to the computer.

The price of jump drives varies and depends on the storage capacity of the drive. The more it can hold is the more it will cost. Nonetheless, jump drives are useful devices to have as they are light-weight and can be easily transported in your pocket.
