The following information is 100% my opinion and has NOT been endorsed or sponsored in any form by the mentioned programs:

Over the years I have been observing the behaviour of what are arguably two of the best antivirus programs on the market, namely Norton Antivirus and Kaspersky Antivirus. Though for the most part I have used Norton Antivirus, Kaspersky has always been of interest to me. It was not until I conducted several tests of both programs did I realize that, in my opinion, Kaspersky is by far the better of the two. What has led me to my conclusion? Well, here are a few things I realized:

1. Norton Antivirus literally hogs any available memory. My computer ran much slower and froze at times for many seconds at intervals when Norton was installed. Kaspersky on the other hand did none of that. Programs ran much faster, and even when performing background scans, it was hardly noticeable which is in stark contrast to Norton which slowed down other program load times.

2. Boot up times for Windows was much longer with Norton Antivirus. I really cannot understand what it could be loading to the extent that long after my desktop background came up, the icons took forever to appear. On the other hand, with Kaspersky installed Windows booted up much quicker and the desktop icons started showing even before Kaspersky loaded.

3. The frequent updates by Kaspersky Antivirus did not drastically increase CPU Usage and really works in the background – you never really realizew when it is working. The opposite is true of Norton Antivirus – it really made it known that it was performing background checks. There are times when I would be working on a document and try to save it. The time it took to actually save a document while Norton was updating would have been the same amount of time it would take for me to get a glass of juice, watch TV for about 5 minutes, shower and return.

Well, as I said these are thoughts based on my use of both antivirus software. Don’t get me wrong though because they both have pros and cons when put to the test. Each has something over the other. When going shopping for either of the two, make a proper comparison and choose the one you think will give you the best results. Just keep in mind that you can learn something about them from another persons experience using them. The final decision is however still your own.

There are many things that we use computers for. At home, we may use them to type letters, send emails, play games, or even do a little e-banking. At work, we use them to do whatever tasks are needed to be done in order to fulfill our job obligations. But there are times when we are mobile and need to do some work on our computers. We cannot simply carry them in our hands, that is why we have netbooks in such an instance. They are light-weight and fully functional like a normal desktop PC.

There are different brand netbooks available on the market today. Some of them include the HP 110-1115CA Mini Netbook PC, Acer Aspire One AOD250-1759 Netbook PC, Asus EEE 1000HE Netbook, and TOSHIBA NB200-005 Mini Netbook, just to name a few. You will see that they are affordably priced, so you can get one at a price that fits your budget. Once you get a netbook of your own, you will wonder how you ever functioned without it in the first place.

technology-reaper-hpc-4gb-ddr2-sdram-memory-module

Just like humans, computers need memory to remember commands and functions that it has to execute. And just like humans who have different types of memory, like long-term and short-term, computer memory varies in capacity and size. Not only that, there are different manufacturers of computer memory. Some popular brands include OCZ, Corsair, PNY, Kingston, Crucial, 3Com, ACP, Acer, and Centon. As it relates to capacity, sizes can vary from as little as 250 MB to over 4 GB.

It is important that we keep tabs on the memory modules in our computers. This is because from time to time they can go bad and as such lose important information that should be stored there. When you go out to buy computer memory, remember to shop around to find the best prices possible. Look out for sellers who offer free shipping on purchases, since there are quite a number of them out there. This will help you to save when you shop. And remember to be careful when handling computer memory because one wrong move can render them useless.

Outpost Security Suite Pro

Outpost Security Suite Pro is a robust Internet security solution that proactively protects SOHO users against a broad range of current and future threats ranging from malware to hackers to identity compromise. The program features an award-winning firewall, fast and reliable antimalware, a unique Host Protection module, web and transaction security tools, and a self-learning antispam engine for complete protection on the Internet. At the heart of Outpost Security Suite Pro, the industry-leading bidirectional firewall guards users’ network access, keeping them safe from inappropriate or malicious connections, internal or external breaches, unsafe URLs and the risk of loss of private data. The powerful and efficient antimalware scanner that incorporates dedicated antivirus and antispyware engines will defend users against any possible type of infection: viruses, worms, spyware, keyloggers and other. Unique SmartScan 2 technology makes repeated scans complete much faster.

The Host Protection module takes a new approach to combating malware: it pre-empts the infection by examining the behavior of a monitored object, proactively blocking it from performing any unauthorized activity. This type of defense-in-advance helps to halt unknown malware before it can activate its destructive payload and renders traditional signature scanners largely unnecessary. To keep the inbox clean of junk email, the Outpost Security Suite Pro’s multi-client antispam component will learn and memorize what users define as spam and apply this knowledge to categorize future email, addressing the problem of spam on a personal level. Special tamper-proof technologies that safeguard the integrity of Outpost components ensure the security cannot be deactivated by targeted attacks. The Web Control module safeguards you against the Internet’s darker side, steering users away from infective sites, prevents inadvertent disclosure of personal information, limits exposure to potentially unsafe web properties and keeps identity private.
